Innate orgasm
Introduction
This is my personal account of how I discovered my body had the innate capacity for multiple orgasms without the need for erection or ejaculation, and without a refractory period. In essence it's about learning to use your penis like a clitoris in a more meditative than sexual context end enjoying orgasms using the bodies underlying capability for this without engaging any of the male reproductive system. If you happen to be a woman there is nothing stopping you trying this too, nothing here requires male anatomy, though it is my perspective.
The Experience of an Innate Orgasm
I woke this morning and as I usually do at this time of day slid my hand down my tummy and made gentle circle with my finger over my undies, just where the foreskin of my still sleeping penis was crumpled up.
It feels like nothing for the first few seconds then I notice it tickles a little.
It only takes a few seconds more of this before I feel a gentle tightening of the whole region between my legs. It's a warm almost tingling sort of tightness, my girlfriend says, 'like a sort of fullness', yes that's it.
I take all of my awareness to the sensations in my groin. Its quiet, I have no other distractions, I can centre my mind on just the area between my legs, as if from the inside though. It is like creating a space in my mind for any sensation that might arise in my groin to be free to express its self. Quiet anticipation spreads out through my body.
Slowly at first, but with rapidly escalating intensity, each gentle stroke with my finger gives rise to a sharp ache of orgasmic pleasure and deep wave of muscle contractions two or three long, fading out before I touch again. With careful timing the waves of spasms become a continuous orgasmic sensation.
Further slight touch will ensure the waves continue, and touching a larger area will amplify the sensation, often driving the waves of sensations up to the maximum. Matching any ejaculation in intensity and way exceeding it in duration.
The waves take on a life of their own. I keep touching but without moving. The waves take me on their own journey of building and crashing and ebbing and flowing, eventually I lose the plot as my brain succumbs to the endorphins and I drop to sleep.
I don't know how long for, it seems only like a second or two. It's always easy to start again, the second and subsequent times are often more intense than the first, but often more chaotic.
This is just one way my innate orgasms can play out. They are quite variable in their make up but all share the same characteristics of requiring little stimulation and no engagement of any of the male reproductive functions required for an ejaculatory orgasm.
The Nature of Innate Orgasms
I use the term innate orgasm here because it seems to me that I am tapping into a common orgasmic sensation capability present in both genders. The sensations experienced, the repeatability and the lack of a refractory period seem much more like those described by women than men.
I think the innate orgasm relies on the fact that both the penis and the clitoris were the same embryonic tissue and retain similar nerve pathways. Traditionally the only stimulation patterns we think of for a penis are the ones that trigger the ejaculation reflex. In my experience there are a whole lot more possibilities that than just that. In this account I describe practices that I have evolved over time so you can experiment with this and find out if you have similar experiences.
It seems the reproductive functions of male anatomy come at quite a high cost to our orgasmic capacity in that generally ejaculation shuts everything down and defeats repeatability. Unsurprisingly there are a large number of body hacking techniques that attempt to redress this. Quite accidentally I have added another to the list.
Understanding male multiple orgasms are not multiple ejaculations.
Many men come to these systems with the exception that they can learn to have multiple ejaculations, but this is very uncommon and so if following this fine tradition it quickly becomes important to understand that orgasms and ejaculation as separate but usually concurrent experiences.
Understanding this opens up the possibility for multiple orgasms without this having to involve ejaculation. I always think this might be more obvious to women as generally orgasms are what she has while ejaculations are what he has. Men struggle more with this as they are inclined to think in general women have orgasms but without ejaculation.
Experience was the only way I came to really understand this, even though there are clues, such as the dud, where ejaculation is not accompanied by orgasmic sensation, or the shiver of near orgasmic sensations experienced at the end of urination, or if you learned before puberty your early dry orgasms. All of these clues and probably many more point to the fact that orgasm and ejaculation are separate events but we commonly miss them all, certainly I did.
Many of the other systems that aim to enhance male multiple orgasm capability do so in a sexually aroused context. For me that was not necessary. I use breath and awareness practices familiar to people who have done some yoga. The way I have trained my body for this is more like an orgasm meditation. There is actually nothing sexual about the practice at all.
While innate orgasms for men may fit under the broader category of NEO (non ejaculatory orgasms) or NEMO (non ejaculatory multiple orgasms) they are quite different in mindset, experience and stimulation methods.
Generally I use the term 'orgasm' to refer to just the sensation, a nice feeling, as a woman, or a multiply orgasmic man, might experience it, and 'ejaculation' for its normal male orgasm & ejaculation sensation combination.
The Beginning of the Journey
The discovery of this capacity for innate orgasms, that are stimulated in a completely different way to ejaculatory ones, came slowly over several years, but the seeds were planted much longer ago.
In my late 20's my girlfriend taught me to do pelvic floor exercises. These were just quite simple repeated clench and release, clench and hold exercises. On and off over the years I remembered to do them. One day before covid I challenged myself to one clench per step. This was quite hard so I settled for one clench every two steps. This was the real beginning of this journey.
As well as the walking clench exercises I also started to do additional pelvic floor exercise when in bed. These consisted of clench and hold for as long and hard as possible.
I didn't know what might be achieved by doing this but I had some ideas that maybe I could regain the capacity, that puberty took away, to become erect just by pumping my pelvic floor muscles, or that I might be able to orgasm and ejaculate just from pelvic floor exercises, or that I might learn to squeeze out all my seminal fluid at will to make sex less messy later. After maybe seven years or so, non of these goals have been achieved, and I am not sure they ever will be but certainly some other very impressive and unexpected things have happened.
Early on my primary objective was to see if I could trigger an orgasm and ejaculation just from pelvic floor exercises and I was quite focused on that as an outcome for a long time. I did not have any luck with this and I think it delayed me in making any real progress or discoveries. I soon abandoned it once a new possibility started to unfold.
The First Multiple Orgasm Discovery
One day I was doing a very strenuous clench everywhere I could, and while doing this I found that if I also pressed downwards in some way that I had a burst of sensations like a mini orgasm. I did this again and found the experience repeated, and again. When I relaxed out of the clench I realised that I had just experienced first hand both the separation of orgasm from ejaculation and also male multiple orgasms. I now had a real idea where this might go and a definite reason to be doing all these pelvic floor exercises.
I was never able to repeat this exact experience, but now I knew I could have multiple orgasms without erection, ejaculation or refractory period, learning how that worked was the new goal.
Mapping the Pelvic Floor
After a while of doing clenches and holds I started to developed a strategy for exploring the pelvic floor and extending the range and depth of my conscious control quite significantly.
In the beginning I could just clench the PC muscle. This is the one that can restrict urine flow. You know this muscle like you know your fingers, it does what you want directly when you command it to. Now I can do what feels like rocking that muscle towards the base of my penis or backwards towards my anus. I think these are both variation of forward Kegel. I can also do the reverse Kegel, which as I understand its is being able to push the PC muscle outwards from the body. On its own I have not practical use for this though. Later I will explain the concept of controlling the pelvic floor muscles that don't act on command, but more by inference and imagination. It is these ones that seem more to be the source of spasms and sensations we can enjoy.
The Muscle Hopping Technique
The exploration technique involves clenching a pelvic floor muscle tightly until it trembles a little. Then with a combination of concentrated awareness and outbound breath focus on the trembling feeling. Often you find another adjacent muscle trembling too and then you find that you can now influence that muscle.
In this way you can hop from muscle to muscle in the pelvic floor gradually learning to be able to influence deeper and deeper muscles.
The breathing is done by taking a normal breath in, and then exhaling long steady and slowly at a consistent speed with a slight constriction of the nose and airways to give the flat breath speed. This is a simplification of Ujjayi Pranayama from yoga.
The concentration or awareness that you take to the sensations coming from the clenched muscles is not something you force. During the outbound breath you just allow your self to sink deeper and deeper into just the sensations you are experiencing. You need a quiet, undisturbed space to do this in and, unlike most other meditations, bed is just fine.
Most of these muscles will just tremble, spasm rhythmically or give a sort of 'cogging' effect as they jump through a set of spasms when you tense and relax them.
Special Effects and Isolated Sensations
Some will lead to intense sensations or other experiences.
It helps to consider that these muscle fibres are tangled with the nerves that generate the sensations of an orgasm when various parts of the pelvic floor spasms during a female orgasm or ejaculation. This exercise lets you find the source of single individual sensations or experiences, that when sequenced normally are just one note from the whole magnificently orchestrated effect that an orgasm is.
Some of these effects are quite profound when experienced in isolation for longer periods of time than you would when they are part of a whole orgasm. Some are more commonly described by women as part of their orgasms but don't seem to be normally part of the male experience.
I think there were quite a lot but I can only remember a few. This is a hard space to precisely remember things from I suspect that is probably the first effect.
One caused me to feel that the place in my head where the seat of consciousness is, had been moved. That is where you feel you are in your head changes when you clench a certain muscle. I have read that the lateral orbitofrontal cortex gets shut down during an orgasm and I wondered if this impression that where in my head I was changed, could be that happening. It made me wonder if old adage "Did the earth move for you last night honey" might actually refer to this effect. I had never had this experience before.
Another example is the sensation of a deep immensely pleasurable aching feeling that persisted as long as I could tense the muscle.
My all time favourite was the feeling of having warm champaign poured over me, again the feeling persisted as long as I could hold the muscle tense. Up until my early 20's my orgasms always finished with this feeling but not since then, so it was nice to have it happen again.
Another novel one was a muscle that when tensed would spasm continuously and slowly pump up my penis until fully erect like a tyre pump.
At other times I would lose sensation that my penis or testicle existed at all, it was is if they didn't and there was just a hole in my body sensory inputs where they should be.
Some times it feels like my insides are rearranging themselves. Its hard to exactly say but it seems like my pelvic floor adjusts and maybe my bladder/prostrate and so on gets tilted a bit maybe, like my pelvic floor is trying to straighten our or line up or something. This seems to be similar to vaginal tenting describe by women.
Occasionally I have accidentally spammed somewhere and this has resulted in the release of the lubricant pre-cum fluid from Cowper’s Glands.
I found with these special effects you are lucky if the same sensation or effect is accessible for more than a few days, sometimes only once.
The impression I get is that my technique for finding the individual muscle and the act of consciously controlling them slowly stops them behaving individually. Instead of being able to find a way to a particular muscle it’s like that muscle gets joined into a surface that is controllable as a whole. This is getting past even my limits to know how to explain but there are the big original muscles that you know you can squeeze voluntarily, but now I feel the whole internal region responds smoothly to being thought about, but I have no concept of what is actually happening when I do that, other than it can feel really good.
Having done quite a lot of very strenuous pelvic floor exercises I entered a phase where I could just think myself into an orgasm. I would do this lying on my back completely relaxed with my awareness taken to my groin, I could just start thinking about how an orgasm would feel and one would bust forth. This was perhaps the purest form of orgasm that I experienced along this journey as it was not accompanied by any noticeable spasms, and was just an intense burst of sensations.
Automatic Spasms and Imaginary Muscles
This may have been a perfectly good spot to stop exploring but I had noticed something else happening in my groin that I was curious about and I made the decision to explore further even though I suspected, rightly, that it might be the end of the experience as I had been it to date.
I had noticed that if I tapped my perineum just short of my anus with my finger I could feel a slight spasm inside. I found that I could strengthen this spasm by using the same breath and awareness technique as before, but now I was imagining the internal spasm getting stronger as I tapped and sank deeper and deeper into the sensation further amplifying the effect.
Up until this point all the pelvic floor exercise's were performed with the muscles that are consciously controllable, like a finger. The brain has a concrete map of where your finger is and how to control it, not so the internal muscles of the pelvic floor. This marked the jump to the muscles that are controllable only by imagining that you can. These are muscles that you don't normally have any control over so they don't have a mapping in your mind as to where they are and how you instruct them like external body parts do.
The muscle that I had found through tapping on my perineum seemed to be able to spasm, possibly with my heart beat, on its own. I spent a long time while watching the tv giving this muscle space to just jiggle at first and then to slowly come round to being able to spasm freely and strongly on its own just by giving it the mental space to do so.
Free running spasms
The next very interesting thing I found with this ability to foster a free running spasm sensation in my groin is that I could move it about consciously. Not over a very large area but I could make it feel as if it was going deeper or more forwards. The active area seemed to be internal to my perineum.
When I relaxed out of active control of this region I would keep my awareness there and continue to feel into the whole space of my pelvic floor just as a watcher without attempting to interfere or influence in any way.
This provided an environment where all the muscles that had just been exercised could play on their own. It would feel a little like a pile of rubber bands each stretching and un-stretching, each stretch would being an intense ache like pleasure sensation, double if the bands seemed to pull against each other, they had different frequencies and while it seemed random it was also rhythmic and deeply pleasurable. Some times they would all work together for a sequence of coordinated spasms.
In a similar way to the earlier process of tensing, trembling and jumping to a new muscle, the range the spasm sensation could be moved and extended by imagining the next muscle that could spasm. Often after a bit of time trying to get my awareness round the presently spasming muscle and a new imaginary one, I could sense deeper movement and eventually extend the range from what seems like the internal layer of my perineum between my penis and anus, into the internal space following the urethra up into my body.
This maybe the muscle area the prostate is in. This seemed like really dense muscle and it didn't spasm, tremble or cog like earlier ones but with the region in mind I could find little pin pricks of sensation. I would hold the space so I could experience them as long as possible as this gives my brain the time to start to map them into being influenceable.
This is an area I am still working on, the results even in the last few days have been quite daunting. The pin pricks grow into kind of fuzzy dots which slowly merge until the whole region contributes big rhythmic waves to the orgasmic sensation. These are not like any that I would normally experience through ejaculation, this seems to be muscles not usually used by male reproductive functions. Which again is consistent with the observation that innate orgasms are closely related but mostly separate response.
I spend a lot of time working with imaginary muscles I have no idea where they are exactly, but the more they are integrated into my brain's map the more they can be included into orgasms. The deeper into the perineum you can go the closer to the nerve plexus you can get and the more intense the associated sensation becomes.
It seems to be about being able to create a mild tension in an area. I think this happens as you take your attention to the area. The awareness gives the rest of the muscles there an environment where they can show up an and be noticed.
I found that while trying to influence a muscle by imagining something will happen, if you also engage a muscle that you can control it seemed to help bring the one you were imagining into play. I had unconsciously been using my big toes and also my tong for this when I realised how it worked.
External Touch as a Trigger
As I worked on the pelvic floor muscle training I started to notice that external touch could sometimes foster the same sorts of orgasmic sensations that the pelvic floor exercises did. The first spot that I noticed worked in this way was the region immediately above my penis. I discovered that instead of using the outbound breath and awareness on internal muscle clenches I could instead use them to amplify faint orgasmic sensation from just stimulating the spot above my penis, where in female anatomy the cleft would begin and the clitoris would reside. Like the pelvic floor this again is done without any engagement of the reproductive functions such as erection or ejaculation etc.
In addition to doing daily pelvic floor exploration work I now added this external stimulation training too.
Touch to Sensation Training
In the beginning I was just chasing tiny sensations and it was quite important that the only spot I touched was the sensitive area, I was careful not to rest my hand or arm on any other part of my body and to avoid any arousal effect that this might cause. This was important as any hint of erection at this stage would swamp out or in some way mask the tiny sensations that I was encouraging. Erection becomes less of an issue later though I still avoid it where possible and still don't rest my hand on my body.
Foreskin Stimulation and Neuroplasticity
After a while it started to become possible to experience these sensations without having to be in deep awareness and breath mode. I started to realise I had retrained my body for a different form of orgasmic response just to direct stimulation.
Finding the most sensitive region to be where the female clitoris would be added more weight to my belief that I was activating a buried orgasmic capability that my body still had from embryonic times that had been built over by male reproductive plumbing.
I started to compare descriptions of my orgasmic experiences with descriptions from women and despite anatomical differences I found them quite similar.
I also stated to notice that the very tip of my foreskin was actually a more sensitive area and was in effect analogous the clitoral hood as a stimulation region.
When I began with the foreskin tip region there was very little sensation associated with touch.
As well as avoiding stray touch, so as not to cause unrequired arousal, I also started to develop a mindset that erection was not necessary for this activity, and over time it became less likely to happen.
Building the Orgasm Response
The touch required was often no more then dragging my finger print over a pinhead sized wrinkle in my foreskin. This touch in conjunction with sinking into the sensation through the outbound breath practice and imagination of intense sensations slowly built up the capacity for this to actually happen.
It seems the outbound breath slowly links the physical stimulus with the imagined or remembered orgasmic sensation, so eventually the touch causes the sensation.
The pelvic floor exercises, particularly the practice of just letting them spasm and play on their own without interference in your awareness provide a rich range of sensations that you can imagine the touch to invoke.
It seems as if the pelvic floor exercises extend the brain's map of the muscles from their random spasms and the outbound breath links the memory of one of these sensations with touch. Essentially you are training for 'when I touch here I want that sensation I am remembering/imagining to occur'.
Every day you do this you slowly build the intensity by adding more and more muscles to the fray.
This is I think the power of practicing the pelvic floor exploration in parallel with the touch to sensation mapping. The pelvic floor work is continuously turning up new muscles and the touch work is adding them to the orgasm response.
This might be just the hard work men have to do, I suspect that this wiring is in place for women and we just have to relearn it.
The Fish and Water Analogy
Writing the following analogy helped met to try to describe all the interactions and sensation I was experiencing at the time. I could not really find any language for this so water is my best attempt.
Water level represents the intensity of the sensations being experienced, ie pleasure level. There are other things in the water too and I think these represent the pelvic floor muscles.
There are a few fish of different sizes and speeds. (The fish have replaced the elastic bands from the earlier descriptions).
When you start there isn't even any water here.
Through the pelvic floor exercises you gradually start to tone the muscles and you start to feel that you can hold a space, a slight tension while you clench another muscle. Now there is a little water, not yet enough for a fish though.
When you relax from the exercises and just use the faintest touch you might feel a tiny ripple in the water. Each day that ripple increases by a tiny amount.
While that is happening you might also feel the water level, the overall warm background pleasure from the practice increases a little each day too.
As well as following the active clench, muscle to muscle protocol, which is like poking the water with a stick, you can also just hold the space in the awareness, watch and wait and see if anything happens on its own. When it does you are staring to let the fish in.
In the beginning you might have to imagine in the outbound breath that one tiny touch feels like one tiny splash, then when it does you have your first bite and you are hooked. You just have to feed that fish, not to much, just tiny specs, you need it to grow into a bigger fish, that is develop the muscle response.
After time there may be two or three different fish, they seem to swim about at different speeds, some times back and forth, some times colliding, all of their activity increases the water level and the splashes they make are intense.
In response to the fish the body starts to introduce cramps, these are like walls that shoot up from the bottom of the tank one at a time, each time they trap the fish into a smaller space and the fish splash more. Some times three or four walls, each one increases the water level until the fish are tired and everything drains away. Maybe this is like stacking orgasms describe in other texts.
As you progress in the pelvic floor exploration you can start to find the cramps give way to the wave machine, as the fish get more frenetic the wave machine might start sending long slow waves of water that get bigger and bigger, some times so much they crash over you and you feel like the water is so deep now that you are floating on the waves, some days the water turns into warm champagne before draining away.
As the fish get more active tripwires start to form through water, these trigger the geysers. If a fish swims into a tripwire, you don't know what is coming but its going to be big.
This seemed like an accurate reflection at the time but this is a process of continuous change and I might write that completely differently now.
How to Begin Exploring This Yourself
If you were keen to try this your self then I would recommend starting to do the pelvic floor exploration technique, then use the touch and breath practice to start to harness any sensations you find from giving the pelvic floor space in your awareness to play.
The Pelvic Floor Exploration Practice
Start with a few breaths of the breathing practice. With your eyes closed take a full breath in and slowly exhale through your nose with a slight constriction in the throat. Do this a few times until you feel it start to quieten your mind.
Continue with the breathing and begin tensing the PC muscle, its the one that when constricted would affect the flow or urine. Hold it quite tight initially as it's easy to sink with your awareness into the sensation of a tight clench.
Slowly loosen the clench and feel for any other muscles that have started to move, if you feel one imagine taking the clench to it. If it becomes uncomfortable relax out of it. Rest, but continue with the breathing and with your awareness still in the groin. Repeat this for as long as you can.
I have always found the practice enjoyable, it has never seemed like a chore to me to do them every morning and night. You are doing them to enjoy the sensations, the mindset is that you are here to enjoy the journey and the exploration, and the outcomes as they gradually unfold.
I had become quite good at the pelvic floor exercises before I discovered the second half of the practice, but in hindsight I would do them both together now.
The Touch to Sensation Practice
The second half is the touch to sensation neuroplasticity training exercise.
The first step is to identify a sensitive place to touch. For me that was the tip of my foreskin, having progressed from the flat smooth skin above the point my penis emerges from my body. If you are circumcised then probably start there. If you are female start with the clitoral hood or maybe under your clitoris this is the closest equivalent structures with the same type of nerve endings.
It may not actually matter where you start, though it's likely to be important that it be an area where the prudential nerve collects the sensations. Anywhere in the genital region is probably fine. I dare somebody to try their nose though that might make sneezing a whole lot more fun.
None of this is done from a sexual stand point, so you need to stay out of the arousal zone however your body type does that. Be careful when touching that you don't make contact with your body anywhere else as this will make it difficult to concentrate on the spot and also might encourage arousal. In the beginning you need to stay away from arousal as it seems to swamp out the tiny muscle spasms we are feeling for.
Mindset
Mindset is also quite important here, particularly if you are male. You are learning to give sensations space to arise rather than forcing them. If you are thinking about this like a man then you may just end up with an erection, and that is counter productive in the early days. You need a much more relaxed inviting mind set. Since innate orgasms seem similar to some female orgasm descriptions it's probably not surprising that a more receptive mindset is required. Dwell in a gentler space and allow yourself to receive rather than pursue.
Beginning the Connection
Having identified a sensitive spot there are quite a number of things to do simultaneously. You will get the hang of it quite quickly though. You need a quiet dark, distraction free space, probably lying on your back knees up and apart so you can reach the sensitive spot without touching your self anywhere else.
Start with the breathing again as you did for the pelvic floor exercises.
In the outbound breath remember or imagine the sensation you want the touch to feel like, this is easiest if the memory of the sensation comes from the pelvic floor exercises free time to play. What you want is to link the sensation to the touch.
Using the outbound breath sink into the imagination of the sensation while touching.
Gently cycle through touching and not touching, imagine the sensation while not touching, imagine the touch while not touching. All of these combinations will help build the connection.
It may take a while to feel the first spark of this connection but when you do you will start to understand where you might be able to take this.
Final Thoughts
This is the beginning of your journey. It is likely to be very different for everybody who tries it. Not for one moment do I think I am anywhere near the end my self. It is really more about enjoying the journey of discovery into what your body can do that it doesn't cover in the user guide, than reaching any particular goal.
